Orange Knowledge Workshop: Application of Netherlands Technologies in Development of Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam

Within the context of the Orange Knowledge Programme, financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nuffic Neso Vietnam in collaboration with Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) in Vietnam, organized the Netherlands Alumni and Expert Workshop: Application of Netherlands Technologies in Development of Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam.

Vietnam is in the process of transitioning to "gaining more for less input" agriculture and is strongly committed to green agriculture. To do this, Vietnam needs to apply modern and sustainable technologies. The Netherlands is a pioneer in this field.

Through this workshop, we aim to transfer knowledge and technology in sustainable agriculture to partners and the alumni of the Netherlands Alumni Network and of the Orange Knowledge Programme. We would also like to enable a network environment for alumni to connect with companies and institutes of the sector and strengthen ties between alumni in Vietnam.

Get a headstart in addressing food systems challenges

The food systems approach is increasingly being used to understand how food is produced and consumed, with an optimal outcome for human health, social justice, economic endeavour and the preservation of planetary resources. Since the Food Systems Summit of the UN in September 2021, it has become central to policy and practice of many international development and research organisations, multilateral organisations and in programs and policies aiming at improving Food and Nutrition Security,

World Food Forum October 2021

While we currently produce enough food to feed every man, woman, and child in the world, there are nearly 700 million people who are hungry, a number which is growing in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. An increase in threats like pests, plagues, conflict, and climate change are compounding this global food crisis.

To mobilize action and identify solutions to address these threats, we are launching the World Food Forum (WFF) – a youth-led movement and network to transform our food systems to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular “zero hunger”.

With events, dialogue and outreach extending throughout the year, the WFF flagship event is set to launch 1-5 October 2021. It will gather major youth groups, influencers, companies, academic institutions, non-profits, governments, media and the public to drive awareness, foster engagement and advocacy, and mobilize resources in support of agri-food systems transformation through youth-led action.

This recurring forum will come to life as a week-long celebration featuring a range of events, including Youth Action track, Innovation Labs, Educational Activities, Culinary ArtsFilm Festivals and Music.

Together we can build back better and create a better food future for all. Be part of the solution.
