The role

Save the Children is seeking a Chief of Party (COP) for an anticipated FY25 United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)-funded Food for Progress (FFPr) program.

The Food for Progress program helps developing countries and emerging democracies modernize and strengthen their agricultural sectors.

This project is expected to build the capacity of work with the federal, provincial, and local levels of the host government to support efficient agricultural standards and practices throughout the identified value chain.

This is a Key Personnel position, subject to USDA approval. It is also subject to project award and funding.

What you’ll be doing

  • Serve as the visionary leader of a high-impact international development program.

  • Collaborate with national governments, USDA, and global partners to modernize agriculture.

  • Oversee strategy, team management, policy engagement, and sustainable systems design.

  • Create real-world impact in food security, nutrition, livelihoods, and resilience.

Required qualification

  • A Master’s degree (or higher) in agriculture, development, or related field.

  • 7+ years of proven leadership in international development, ideally in agribusiness or food systems.

  • Experience with USDA programs, and a deep understanding of cross-cultural and governmental collaboration.

  • Passion for child rights, sustainable food systems, and inclusive development.
