RECAP | Movie & Discussion Night:
“From Farm to Fork: Uncovering the Shrimp Value Chain”
Behind every Vietnamese shrimp lies a complex value chain navigating both opportunities and growing challenges in the era of sustainability and digital transformation. The conversation is no longer only about increasing production — it's about how the industry can adapt, innovate, and grow more sustainably for the long term.
On May 15th, Empower Youth4Food Vietnam Chapter, together with RYNAN Technologies Vietnam, ShrimpTech Vietnam, and the support of Agriterra, successfully organized the Movie & Discussion Night at RYNAN Technologies, Vinh Long. The event brought together over 60 participants — farmers, young professionals, and students from Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Tra Vinh, Dong Thap, Ca Mau, and across the Mekong Delta region.
Through the short documentary "From Farm to Fork", participants explored how a modern shrimp value chain is being shaped through optimization, innovation, and sustainable farming approaches — where productivity goes hand in hand with environmental responsibility and long-term impact.

Beyond technology itself, the discussion highlighted the growing importance of multidisciplinary collaboration within the industry. Speakers emphasized that the future workforce of aquaculture will require not only technical expertise, but also adaptability, communication skills, systems thinking, and the ability to work across sectors and cultures.
“Sustainable aquaculture should not only focus on advanced technologies, but also on creating solutions that are practical, economically feasible for farmers, and aligned with local livelihoods in the long term.”
