IMCD Cares

Towards a sustainable food industry with plant-based alternatives

The Green Food Contest

IMCD through the IMCD Cares programme in partnership with Nuffic Southeast Asia and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore), has been proud to host the Green Food Contest award ceremony, "Towards a sustainable food industry with plant-based alternatives".

The event was held on January 18, 2024, from 5 PM-6 PM in SBS Classroom 1, NTU Singapore. The award ceremony was followed by a networking reception.

The Green Food Contest is a scholarship competition for talented students from six Southeast Asian countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam). Participants were invited to submit a research proposal about the transition from an animal-based diet to a plant-based nutrition, a key topic for a sustainable food industry. The contest is part of IMCD Cares, a programme of IMCD, a leading global distribution partner, formulator and solutions provider of speciality chemicals and ingredients.

The winner of the Green Food Contest is Eden Vina Grate from the Philippines. She has started her study in Plant Biology at NTU in January 2024 under a scholarship supported by IMCD. During the award ceremony, Eden received her prize from Andreas Igerl, President of IMCD APAC.
