ROAD TO GRAND FINALS: Update on EY4F Changemaker Challenge Winners' Journey

We're thrilled to share updates from the winners of the Empower Youth4Food Changemaker Challenge, team EarthFeast from Tra Vinh University and team EcoShrimp from Can Tho University!

EY4F CHANGEMAKER CHALLENGE UPDATE

As winners of the Changemaker Challenge, they are now representing Vietnam on the global stage in the Food Systems Innovations Challenge – Nature-Based Solutions Edition, hosted by Wageningen University and the Netherlands Food Partnership.

Thanks to support from the Dutch Embassy in Vietnam, the Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO) and our industry partners Good Tôm and Agriterra, both teams are developing impactful solutions for a more sustainable food system in Vietnam.

ECOSHRIMP

Over the past two months, team EcoShrimp has refined their model for transforming underutilized supporting ponds for shrimp cultivation into a nature-based, multi-species pond system to enhance environmental resilience and increase farm productivity.

In July and August, the team will host dissemination workshops for farmers and students that also serve for further data to refine their pond models.

EARTHFEAST

Team EarthFeast is currently developing an app that connects organic shrimp farmers directly with customers, helping them to access the market, support product traceability and access to safe, sustainable food.

The team’s long-term goal is to contribute to a resilient, nature-based model of shrimp-rice farming that combines organic production, digital innovation and community empowerment.
